Application of Phytotests to Study of Environmental Safety of Biologicaly Synthetised Au and Au/ZnO Nanoparticles Using Tanacetum parthenium Extract

Marcin Szymanski et al.

Summary: Nanoparticles, particularly those synthesized biologically, have different toxicity profiles compared to larger particles, making it challenging to predict their ecological impact. Ecotoxicological studies are essential to understand the environmental impact and safety of nanotechnology products. Experimental results showed that biologically synthesized gold nanoparticles could stimulate plant growth, while Au/ZnO nanoparticles had toxic effects at all concentrations tested.

Phytotoxic effects of biosynthesized ZnO nanoparticles using Betonica officinalis extract

Renata Dobrucka et al.

Summary: Nanoparticles have unique properties that create opportunities for application in various fields, but they can also have negative effects on the environment and humans. Therefore, it is important to study the impact of metal nanoparticles on plants. The experiment showed that ZnO nanoparticles synthesized biologically exhibited significant toxic properties against different plant seeds.
