Effects of Hurricane Michael on Access to Care for Pregnant Women and Associated Pregnancy Outcomes

Ke Pan et al.

Summary: After Hurricane Michael, women in Area A initiated prenatal care later and had a higher likelihood of inadequate prenatal care. The effects of Michael on perinatal outcomes did not significantly vary by maternity care availability within Area A. Delayed initiation of prenatal care in affected areas appeared to partially explain the increased risk of small for gestational age births after Michael.
