Convergence in road transport CO2 emissions in Europe

Angel S. Marrero et al.

Summary: In Europe, road transport is the largest polluter of CO2 emissions, with countries showing a convergence trend in emissions but influenced by structural factors. The speed of convergence has increased over time, but has led to undesirably high emission levels due to laggard countries catching up with leaders. Structural factors such as economic activity and fuel prices significantly impact the convergence speed, indicating the need for policy intervention to reduce emissions levels.

Comparative analysis of different CHP systems using biogas for the cassava starch plants

Yongjun Yin et al.

Summary: The energy demands of a cassava starch plant were investigated and modeled, evaluating and comparing four combined heat and power systems using biogas. Results showed that the reciprocating internal-combustion engine and micro turbine CHP systems can meet all energy demands with the former being the most profitable and environmentally friendly. The best choice for the cassava starch plant would be the reciprocating internal-combustion engine CHP system.
