Performances of Transcritical Power Cycles with CO2-Based Mixtures for the Waste Heat Recovery of ICE

Jinghang Liu et al.

Summary: In the study of using mixtures for waste heat recovery of internal combustion engines in transcritical CO2 power cycles, it was found that the split cycle consistently outperforms the recuperative cycle. Under design conditions, the mixture of CO2 and R290 (0.3/0.7) showed the best performance in the split cycle.
