Syngas to light olefins over ZnAlOx and high-silica CHA prepared by boron-assisted hydrothermal synthesis

Li Ren et al.

Summary: In this study, high-silica CHA zeolites with Si/Al ratios ranging from 20 to infinity were successfully prepared via a boron-assisted hydrothermal synthesis method. The influence of Si/Al ratio on the acidity and textural properties of boron-containing CHA (BAl-CHA) was systematically studied, revealing that BAl-CHA catalyst with Si/Al ratio over 300 achieved 85.1% selectivity of light olefins. The research also highlighted the roles of acidity, framework boron, and various reaction parameters in determining the olefin selectivity and catalyst stability.

Multiphase particle-in-cell simulation study of sorption enhanced steam methane reforming process in a bubbling fluidized bed reactor

Zhanghao Wan et al.

Summary: The study examines the hydrodynamics and thermochemical characteristics of the sorption enhanced steam methane reforming process in a fluidized bed reactor using a multiphase particle-in-cell model. The effects of critical operating parameters on gas thermal properties, bubble evolution, density-segregation mechanism, and heat transfer coefficients for Ni-catalyst and dolomite particles are discussed. Superficial gas velocity shows a positive effect on CH4 and H2O, gas temperature, and gas density while a negative effect on CO and H-2, gas specific heat capacity.

Numerical analysis of wood air gasification in a bubbling fluidized gasifier with reactive charcoal as bed material

Zhanghao Wan et al.

Summary: In this study, a reactive multiphase particle-in-cell model based on the Eulerian-Lagrangian framework is developed to investigate the wood gasification process in a three-dimensional fluidized bed gasifier. The results show that gas velocity and initial bed height have significant effects on the physical and thermophysical properties of the gas-solid reacting flow. The findings provide valuable insights into the behavior of the gasification process in terms of particle dispersion, heat transfer, gas composition, and thermal properties.

Particle-scale evaluation of the pyrolysis process of biomass material in a reactive gas-solid spouted reactor

Shiliang Yang et al.

Summary: The study on biomass pyrolysis in a spouted bed reactor reveals that the heat transfer coefficient of particles varies with bed height and shows significant distribution differences in different regions. The temperature and heat transfer coefficient of biomass increase with the rise of pyrolysis temperature, while the effect of gas velocity on the heat transfer coefficient is insignificant.

Zhanghao Wan et al.

Summary: This study presents a three-dimensional reactive multiphase particle-in-cell (MP-PIC) model to simulate the hydrodynamics and thermochemical property of the biomass gasification process in a pilot-scale circulating fluidized bed gasifier. The study investigates bed hydrodynamics and thermochemical characteristics, and discusses the effects of operating conditions on species distribution, lower heating value (LHV), and combustible gas concentration (CGC). The results show that gasification temperature and equivalence ratio have direct impacts on gasification efficiency.

Chunhua Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of kinetic models and coke content on the reactive predictions of MTO fluidized beds, identifying the underlying reasons for the deviation from experimental results. It was found that coke content distribution plays a critical role in reaction predictions, and considering a reasonable coke content distribution led to better predictions in methanol conversion and selectivity to light olefins.
