A review of equity in electricity tariffs in the renewable energy era

Mohammad Ansarin et al.

Summary: This paper reviews recent studies on the equity of residential electricity tariffs in the context of the increasing distributed renewable energy sources. It identifies three main areas of focus in these studies: normative concerns, quantifying tariff fairness, and quantifying transitional fairness of pricing decisions. The paper also identifies research gaps and provides a comparative analysis of methodological choices. This review offers a broader perspective on the impact of distributed renewable energy sources on distributional concerns in residential electricity pricing for researchers and policy-makers.

Performances of energy management strategies for a Photovoltaic/Battery microgrid considering battery degradation

Sarah Ouedraogo et al.

Summary: This study compared different energy management strategies for a Photovoltaic /battery system providing electricity to an accommodation building with an electric vehicle based on cost benefit analysis. It was found that the improvement in terms of gain between the simplest method and the reference method was about 27%, with battery cycle numbers playing a significant role in battery aging. The introduction of battery degradation models and corresponding costs impacted the relevance of control strategies based on initial battery costs.
