Experimental study on the characteristics of temperature dependent surface/interfacial properties of a non-ionic surfactant aqueous solution at quasi-thermal equilibrium condition

Dong-Sheng Guo et al.

Summary: The study investigates the temperature dependence of surface/interfacial properties of liquids, finding a decreasing trend of surface tension and contact angle with temperature increase. Different dynamic behaviors of droplets are observed for ultra-pure water and surfactant solutions in different stages.

The cooling performance of the micro-solid nitrogen spray technique on the cryopreservation vitrification process: A qualitative study

Przemyslaw Smakulski et al.

Summary: The qualitative mechanism of heat transfer during the cooling process by spraying Micro-Solid Nitrogen (MSN2) and the capability to vitrify a large-volume of samples are experimentally investigated. The results show higher heat flux values using MSN2 spray compared to boiling pool of Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) and the existence of a second local maximum of heat flux in the wall superheat temperatures. Vitrification of large-volume samples with higher cooling rates is achieved using a specific liquid solution.

Water evaporation on structured surfaces with different wettability

S. Y. Misyura et al.

Summary: Experimental studies are conducted to investigate the non-isothermal evaporation and heat transfer of water droplets and films on structured walls. The results show that the textured surfaces can change the wettability and enhance the heat transfer, leading to an increased evaporation rate. Furthermore, self-organization of colloidal aqueous solution films under local heating is observed.

The dependence of drop evaporation rate and wettability on corrosion kinetics

S. Y. Misyura

Summary: Experimental study shows that the corrosion of aluminum alloy significantly affects the kinetics of droplet evaporation, controlling the wettability and evaporation rate of the droplet. The decrease in evaporation rate can be attributed to the reduction in heat supply caused by corrosion.

Application of Aqueous Solutions of Surfactants in Pulsating Heat Pipe

A. A. Semenov et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigated the surface properties of colloidal solutions at different concentrations and temperatures, finding a dependence of surface tension on surfactant concentration consistent with existing literature. In particular, for certain concentrations of the surfactant SLS, the first derivative of surface tension with respect to temperature was found to be positive, indicating potential self-wetting properties at the interface.
