Voltage Profiles Improvement in a Power Network with PV Energy Sources-Results of a Voltage Regulator Implementation

Agata Szultka et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the use of a Low-Voltage Regulator (LVR-sys) in a selected rural distribution network with a large number of photovoltaic (PV) energy sources. The study finds that the previously functioning network is unable to provide power with the required parameters to consumers after installing many PV sources. The application of the regulator significantly improves the voltage levels in the network and maintains them within the normative range.

Selective Harmonic Elimination Technique for a 27-Level Asymmetric Multilevel Converter

Ignacio Torres et al.

Summary: This paper presents an implementation of selective harmonic elimination modulation technique in a 27-Level asymmetric multilevel converter. A novel modulating technique is proposed that optimizes switching angles for the multilevel waveform. By performing modulation index sweep, different solutions are obtained to minimize total harmonic distortion, which are validated through simulation results.

Nonlinear Self-Synchronizing Current Control for Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Inverters

Moath Alqatamin et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel method to accurately identify the grid phase angle solely via the grid current feedback in photovoltaic grid-connected applications. The proposed method achieves the grid current and DC-link voltage control objectives without the knowledge of the grid information and without the need for a cascaded control scheme.

DQ Transformation Based Control of Single-Phase Grid-Tied Inverter

Muhammad Waqas et al.

Summary: This study uses DQ synchronous reference frame transformation to control active and reactive power in single-phase grid-tied inverters, achieving zero steady-state error and reducing harmonics through PI control. The introduction of a phase-locked loop is employed to adjust the phase of the injected grid current and voltages, leading to satisfactory simulation results.
