Summary: Induced polyploidy is an important strategy in plant breeding and new crop development. The study investigated the effects of in vitro polyploidization on morphological characteristics, TAs and phenolic acid contents, as well as on the expression of six genes related to TAs biosynthesis. The highest efficiency of hexaploidy was achieved after 48 hours of exposure to 0.1% colchicine concentration, resulting in significant changes in plant growth traits and secondary metabolites production.
