Jean Paul Uwizihiwe et al.

Summary: This study translates and culturally adapts the Diabetes-39 (D-39) questionnaire into Kinyarwanda and examines its psychometric properties among diabetic patients in Rwanda. The results show that the adapted Kinyarwanda version of D-39 is a reliable and valid instrument to measure quality of life among diabetic patients in Rwanda, with good internal consistency and construct validity. Cross-cultural differences should be considered when using the questionnaire.
