Establishment of PPy-derived carbon encapsulated LiMn2O4 film electrode and its performance for efficient Li+ electrosorption

Summary: A novel carbon encapsulated material LiMn2O4@Carbon/Nitrogen-4 (LMO@CN-4) film electrode with improved cycle stability and Li+ electrosorption rate was prepared by in-situ polymerization and high-temperature annealing. The modified electrode exhibited faster Li+ electrosorption, higher lithium-ion selectivity, and better stability than the unmodified electrode, with a maximum Li+ capacity of 34.57 mg/g. Additionally, the carbon encapsulation layer allowed for enhanced charge and ion transport, maintaining the charge and discharge capacity at about 80% after 50 cycles, indicating potential for lithium electrosorption from concentrated seawater.

Lithium ion sieve modified three-dimensional graphene electrode for selective extraction of lithium by capacitive deionization

CNT-Strung LiMn2O4 for Lithium Extraction with High Selectivity and Stability

Summary: A two-step strategy is reported to fabricate highly conductive and stable CNT-strung LiMn2O4 (CNT-s-LMO) electrode by stringing Mn3O4 particles with CNT and then converting the hybrids into CNT-s-LMO through hydrothermal lithiation. The resulting structure of CNT-s-LMO electrode exhibits excellent conductivity, high specific capacitance, and enhanced rate performance. The CNT-s-LMO-based HCDI cell shows a high Li+ extraction percentage in brine and outstanding lithium selectivity with exceptional cycling stability.

The results showed that this method achieved high selectivity for lithium extraction under low initial lithium/sodium ratios.

Lithium extraction from brine by an asymmetric hybrid capacitor composed of heterostructured lithium-rich cathode and nano-bismuth anode
