Trends and Disparities in Cardiometabolic Health Among US Adults, 1999-2018

Meghan O'Hearn et al.

Summary: According to the study, cardiometabolic health trends in the United States have been poor and worsening between 1999 and 2018, with only 6.8% of adults having optimal cardiometabolic health. Disparities in health outcomes by age, sex, education, and race/ethnicity were evident and generally worsened over time. This highlights the need for nationwide clinical and public health interventions to improve cardiometabolic health and health equity.
