Binder-free 3D hierarchical Bi Nanosheet/CNTs arrays anode for full sodium-ion battery with high voltage above 4 V

Yani Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a binder-free bismuth (Bi) anode was developed, based on the one-step electrochemical codeposition of three-dimensional Bi nanosheets and conductive carbon nanotube networks (Bi NS/CNTs). The co-deposition of these structures enabled strong interfacial adhesion and accommodation of volume change during cycling, leading to long-term cycling stability and good rate performance. When assembled into a full sodium-ion battery with a Na3(VOPO4)2F@rGO cathode, the Bi NS/CNTs anode exhibited a high operating voltage and energy density, outperforming other reported Bi-based analogues. This work presents a new opportunity for developing efficient sodium-ion batteries with high energy and practicality.
