Regional Lung Perfusion Analysis in Experimental ARDS by Electrical Impedance and Computed Tomography

Summary: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) was used to detect pulmonary perfusion by introducing an indicator-enhanced method, which was validated against dynamic multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) in experimental models of acute respiratory distress syndrome. The study found strong correlation and agreement between EIT and MDCT perfusion estimations in healthy and regionally injured lungs, demonstrating the feasibility of EIT perfusion imaging.
