Multi-Material, Multi-Process, Planar, and Nonplanar Additive Manufacturing of Piezoelectric Devices

Mohammad Rafiee et al.

Summary: This work presents the development of a multi-material multi-process additive manufacturing (AM) platform for fabricating piezoelectric devices with complex planar and nonplanar structures. The study also introduces the development of highly stretchable and less toxic printing materials, called inks, for extrusion-based direct-writing AM processes. The fabricated piezoelectric energy-harvesting devices demonstrate the potential for expanding the design space of multi-material AM.

Rheological, electrical, and dynamic thermomechanical properties: Comparison between multiwall and double-wall carbon nanotubes in polylactide and polyamide 11

Zeinab Mousavi et al.

Summary: The study found that carbon nanotubes could form networks in polylactide and polyamide 11 matrices, with PLA/MWCNT nanocomposites having a lower rheological percolation threshold and higher electrical conductivity compared to PA11-based nanocomposites. Nanocomposites containing DWCNTs showed higher electrical conductivities, and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis indicated increased storage modulus values and reduced damping behavior with increasing CNT content.

Effect of Processing Temperature and the Content of Carbon Nanotubes on the Properties of Nanocomposites Based on Polyphenylene Sulfide

Kamil Dydek et al.

Summary: The study found that increasing MWCNT content leads to higher complex viscosity, storage modulus, and loss modulus, while decreasing the agglomerates' areal ratio; in terms of thermal properties, higher MWCNT content results in improved stability and crystallinity, with no significant impact from processing temperature.
