Transparent regenerated cellulose bionanocomposite film reinforced by exfoliated montmorillonite with polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane bearing amino groups

Inho Shin et al.

Summary: The physical properties of the films were significantly enhanced by the preparation of transparent hydrogel and the addition of modified montmorillonite. At the same time, a notable decrease in transparency in the UV spectrum was observed, which is important for UV protection by cellulosic materials.

Thermally Robust Zirconia Nanorod/Polyimide Hybrid Films as a Highly Flexible Dielectric Material

Yong-Zhu Yan et al.

Summary: A strategy for fabricating zirconia-polyimide (ZrO2-PI) nanohybrid films with high permittivity, thermal stability, and excellent mechanical properties has been developed in this study. The fabricated films showed high stability, enhanced permittivity, and low coefficients of thermal expansion, making them potentially useful in applications such as high charge-storage capacitors and organic field-effect transistors in the flexible electronics industry.

Nitrogen-Doped Carbons Derived from Imidazole-Based Cross-Linked Porous Organic Polymers

Wojciech Kicinski et al.

Summary: Nitrogen-doped and heteroatom multi-doped carbon materials are considered excellent catalysts and sorbents. Acid-catalyzed sol-gel polycondensation of hydroxybenzenes with heterocyclic aldehydes yields porous organic polymers, which upon pyrolysis result in highly porous and heteroatom-doped carbons. The study investigates the influence of reactants composition and pyrolysis temperature on the structure and chemical composition of the final doped materials.

Moisture absorption measurement and modelling of a cellulose acetate

S. Khoshtinat et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the application of highly hygroscopic polymers as humidity responsive self-actuators, with a specific focus on moisture diffusion in cellulose acetate. The research found a linear relationship between moisture concentration and relative humidity, and confirmed the reliability of finite element simulations for non-Fickian diffusion through experiments.
