Preparation of solid lipid nanoparticles and nanostructured lipid carriers containing zeaxanthin and evaluation of physicochemical properties

Roya Osanlou et al.

Summary: This study successfully developed nano-based carriers containing zeaxanthin and determined the optimal formulation. The use of nanostructure lipid carriers resulted in reduced hydrophobicity and smaller particle size. Additionally, the encapsulation efficiency and loading of zeaxanthin were higher in the nanostructure lipid carriers compared to solid lipid nanoparticles.

Molecular dynamics simulations of duodenal self assembly in the presence of different fatty acids

Esra Tuncer et al.

Summary: This study investigated the self-assembly of bile lipids and fatty acids in the duodenum through molecular dynamics simulations. The results showed that the length and unsaturation degree of fatty acids influenced the composition and structure of micelles. The study also revealed a correlation between fatty acid unsaturation degree and lipid packing density, which played a significant role in determining the concentration of bile salts.

Bilosomes as effective delivery systems to improve the gastrointestinal stability and bioavailability of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)

Li Wang et al.

Summary: Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) bilosomes were prepared and evaluated for their stability and bioavailability compared to liposomes and niosomes. EGCG stability was significantly improved in the presence of salt ions and under different temperatures when delivered as niosomes and bilosomes. EGCG encapsulated in bilosomes showed significantly higher retention rate and improved bioavailability, indicating their potential application as a new delivery system.

Anubhav Pratap-Singh et al.

Summary: This study examines the spray-drying microencapsulation of iron and zinc simultaneously as a strategy to combat nutrient deficiency. The microcapsules showed higher resistance to intestinal conditions, quickly releasing iron and zinc in stomach and intestinal digestion. The Higuchi mathematical model best fit the release of iron and zinc, suggesting a transport phenomenon governed by diffusion through the coating material.
