Tribological properties of Ni-W-TiO2-GO composites produced by ultrasonically-assisted pulse electro co-deposition

Mehmet Uysal et al.

Summary: In this study, the Ni-W-TiO2-Graphene oxide co-deposition was prepared using ultrasonic-assisted pulse electrodeposition, and the effects of graphene oxide and TiO2 particles on the properties of the coating were investigated. The addition of graphene oxide and TiO2 led to increased hardness and elastic modulus, but also increased the wear rate of the resulting coating. Detailed analyses of the coatings' morphology, microstructure, and tribological behavior were conducted to understand the impact of incorporating these particles into the matrix.

Wear behavior of alkaline pulsed electrodeposited nickel composite coatings reinforced by ZnO nanoparticles

Mohammad Sajjadnejad et al.

Summary: In this study, Nickel-ZnO nanocomposite coatings were fabricated by pulse electrodeposition in an alkaline bath, and the impact of different deposition parameters on the friction behavior was investigated. It was found that increasing current density improved wear resistance, while enhancing duty cycle and pulse frequency worsened it.

Effect of concentration of TiC on the properties of pulse electrodeposited Ni-P-TiC nanocomposite coatings

Khuram Shahzad et al.

Summary: Ni-P/TiC nanocomposite coatings were developed on HSLA substrates through pulse electrodeposition, with different concentrations of TiC nanoparticles. The coatings exhibited improved structural, compositional, mechanical, wear, and electrochemical properties, with Ni-P/0.75TiC composition showing the highest mechanical response and lowest wear rate. The corrosion resistance of Ni-P coatings was substantially increased by incorporating TCNPs, with Ni-P/0.75TiC coatings demonstrating the highest corrosion protection efficiency of 94% in saline water due to the compact structure containing inactive TCNPs in the Ni-P matrix.

Pulse electro co-deposition of submicron-sized TiC reinforced Ni-W coatings: tribological and corrosion properties

Serhat Dilek et al.

Summary: Nickel-Tungsten-Titanium carbide (Ni-W-TiC) coatings were produced by pulse electrodeposition from an electrolyte containing TiC particles. The presence of TiC in the electrolyte improved the mechanical and tribological properties of the coatings, with the highest hardness and modulus of elasticity observed at 15 g/L TiC concentration. The TiC particles also enhanced the electrochemical properties of the coatings due to their barrier effect.
