Doxorubicin-Loaded Walnut-Shaped Polydopamine Nanomotor for Photothermal-Chemotherapy of Cancer

Yuhong Liu et al.

Summary: The combination of photothermal therapy and chemical drug therapy holds promise in cancer treatment. A walnut-shaped nanomotor driven by near infrared light was synthesized to address the limitations of low permeability of therapeutic agents and uneven photothermal therapy. The experimental results demonstrate that the nanomotor has good biocompatibility and photothermal effect.

Atomically dispersed Ag on δ-MnO2via cation vacancy trapping for toluene catalytic oxidation

Wenhao Yang et al.

Summary: The regulation of metal-support interaction and noble metal utilization is crucial for volatile organic compound catalytic oxidation. In this study, Ag+ is trapped onto engineered Mn vacancies of delta-MnO2 using a H2O2-assisted synthesis process for the catalytic oxidation of toluene. The strong metal-support interaction between Ag and delta-MnO2 promotes the formation of oxygen vacancies and activation of adjacent lattice oxygen, leading to excellent toluene oxidation activity and stability.

Adaptive Control of Nanomotor Swarms for Magnetic-Field-Programmed Cancer Cell Destruction

Yajing Shen et al.

Summary: This study designs adaptive control behaviors of Cy5-tagged caspase-3-specific peptide-modified MNMs, inducing cancer cell apoptosis in lysosomes under the action of a rotating magnetic field. A predicted magneto-programmed vortex is observed around swarms under RMF using a finite element method model, with critical rotating frequency correlated to assembling and swarming properties. Real-time frequency-adapted controllability of MNM swarms for cancer cell apoptosis is demonstrated both in vitro and in vivo.
