Differences in Cardiac Remodeling in Left-Sided Valvular Regurgitation Implications for Optimal Definition of Significant Aortic Regurgitation

Pimprapa Vejpongsa et al.

Summary: This study compared the differences in left ventricular remodeling between patients with similar degrees of aortic regurgitation (AR) and mitral regurgitation (MR), and evaluated the optimal threshold for significant AR. The findings suggest that left ventricular remodeling is different in AR compared to MR, and the criteria for aortic valve replacement or repair in AR may be lower than currently proposed.
