Dislocation-strained MoS2 nanosheets for high efficiency hydrogen evolution reaction

Summary: Defect engineering is an effective strategy to optimize the catalytic performance of MoS2 by introducing dislocations. This study successfully synthesized numerous dislocation-strained structures in MoS2 nanosheets through low-temperature hydrothermal synthesis. The high-density dislocations and corresponding strain field resulted in superior catalytic activity under visible light. This work provides a new pathway for improving the catalytic activity of MoS2 through dislocation-strained synergistic modulation.

Summary: This study reports the fabrication of P-doped NiCo2Se4 hollow nanoneedle arrays on carbon fiber paper using hydrothermal reaction and post gas-phase doping strategy. The optimal arrays exhibit outstanding pH-universal hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance, outperforming most state-of-the-art catalysts. The doping of P atoms optimizes the adsorption/desorption energy of H*, water adsorption energy, and water dissociation energy, accelerating the rate-determining step of HER.

Ultrahigh activity of molybdenum/vanadium-doped Ni-Co phosphides nanoneedles based on ion-exchange for hydrogen evolution at large current density

Summary: Heteroatom doping is a promising strategy to enhance the electronic structure of transition metal phosphides for improving the hydrogen evolution reaction. A facile ion-exchange strategy was applied to evenly dope Mo/V species into Ni-Co phosphides under mild conditions, resulting in better electronic regulation effect and hydrogen evolution performance. The synergistic effect of Ni-Co phosphides, along with the highly dispersed nanoneedle morphology and optimized electronic structure, led to Mo-NiCoP/NF demonstrating higher activity than Pt/C at high current densities, suggesting potential for developing high-performance catalysts through ion-exchange strategy.

Fabrication of vertically well-aligned NiSi2 nanoneedle arrays with enhanced field emission properties
