Summary: In recent years, there is a growing interest in the scientific community in implementing new, rapid, sensitive and cheaper detection methods that are superior to traditional methods for quantifying polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), especially with advancements in synthesizing nanomaterials for designing electrochemical sensors. This review discusses the latest research activities from the last five years on electrochemical sensing for the determination of PAHs from aqueous resources and catchment areas.
