Combustion synthesis and characterization of Li1.2Mn0.52Ni0.20Co0.08O2 cathodes for Li-Ion battery: Effect of fuel mixture and annealing temperature

Samuel O. Ajayi et al.

Summary: The effect of fuel mixture and annealing temperature on Li1.20Mn0.52Ni0.20Co0.08O2 powders synthesized by combustion was studied, indicating that the annealing temperature had a significant impact on the structural properties while the fuel mixture had little effect. Additionally, the relationship between the electrochemical performance of the cathode materials and the structural properties of the powder samples was analyzed, showing that citric acid assisted combustion and annealing temperature could be used to optimize the electrochemical performance of LLO cathode materials.

New insights to build Na+/vacancy disordering for high-performance P2-type layered oxide cathodes

Hu-Rong Yao et al.

Summary: Researchers have proposed a new strategy for improving the electrochemical performance of P2-type Na-based layered oxides in Na-ion batteries. By forming P2 materials with lower Na content and a delocalized electronic structure, the unfavorable rearrangement of Na+/vacancy ordering can be avoided. This leads to excellent electrochemical performance with high reversible capacity, superior rate performance, and good cycling stability.
