Summary: Tailoring the heterostructure of cobalt oxide/ sulfide on Ni foam with interconnected nanosheet walls and porous microspheres via solvothermal process and sulfurization leads to an electrode material with outstanding electrochemical performance for energy storage devices. The synergistic effect of well-ordered nanosheets and nanospheres contributes to the high specific capacitance and good cycle stability of the electrode. Furthermore, the all-solid-state, bendable asymmetric supercapacitor fabricated with the electrode material and activated carbon electrodes shows exceptional power density and cycling stability, highlighting the promising application of heterostructures in the field of energy storage devices.

Gas separation performance of MMMs containing (PIM-1)-functionalized GO derivatives

Jose Miguel Luque-Alled et al.

Summary: A strategy to reduce physical aging in PIM-1 membranes by incorporating novel functionalized graphene oxide (GO) fillers is reported. The best performance was achieved by a membrane containing 10 wt% of (PIM-1)-functionalized APTS-GO, maintaining 85% of the initial CO2 permeability after 150 days. This represents about nine-fold less CO2 permeability drop compared to pure PIM-1.

Ultrathin, Highly Permeable Graphene Oxide/Zeolitic Imidazole Framework Polymeric Mixed-Matrix Composite Membranes: Engineering the CO2-Philic Pathway

Chang Soo Lee et al.

Summary: High-performance, thin-film mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs) were developed using a filler of zeolitic imidazole framework (ZIF) decorated graphene oxide (GO) dispersed in a poly(vinyl imidazole)-co-poly(oxyethylene methacrylate) (PVI-POEM) copolymer matrix. The improved gas permeance was achieved by creating a CO2-permeable pathway through semi-interconnected GO-ZIF nanocages. The synergistic effect of CO2 separation was generated by the CO2-philic pathway of GO-ZIF filler and good interaction between the PVI-POEM and GO-ZIF.
