Dual-Band-Tunable White-Light Emission from Bi3+/Te4+ Emitters in Perovskite-Derivative Cs2SnCl6 Microcrystals

Wei Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a new class of highly efficient and dual-band-tunable white-light emitters based on Bi3+/Te4+ co-doped perovskite derivative Cs2SnCl6 microcrystals was reported. The microcrystals exhibited broad dual-band white-light emission originating from the inter-configurational transitions of Bi3+ and Te4+, with good stability and a high photoluminescence quantum yield.

First-principles study of double perovskites Cs2Sn(Br1-xIx)6 for the design of high-efficiency thin-film photovoltaics

M. A. Kinani et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of the chemical content of halogen atom on the properties of double pemvskite Cs2Sn(Br1-xIx)(6). The increase in iodide (I) content leads to an increase in lattice constant and a decrease in energy bandgap. The dielectric functions, refractive index, and absorption coefficient exhibit a red shift at higher I content. The spectroscopic limited maximum efficiency (SLME) reaches 33.015% with an I content of x = 0.557, approaching the Shockley-Queisser limit (33.16%).

A first-principles study of exciton self-trapping and electric polarization in one-dimensional organic lead halide perovskites

Xingxing Jiang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the formation mechanism of intrinsic self-trapped excitons in one-dimensional organic perovskite systems and identifies the low electronic dimension and potential well formed by local distortion as the origin of exciton self-trapping. Furthermore, it is found that breaking the central inversion symmetry greatly improves the transition probability of electrons.

Structural descriptor for enhanced spin-splitting in 2D hybrid perovskites

Manoj K. Jana et al.

Summary: A specific bond angle disparity connected with asymmetric tilting distortions of metal halide octahedra correlates with the computed spin-splitting in 2D hybrid perovskites. This distortion metric can serve as a crystallographic descriptor for rapidly discovering potential candidate materials with strong spin-splitting. Local inorganic layer distortions induced via appropriate organic cations provide a key design objective to achieve strong spin-splitting in perovskites.
