Hyperbranched epoxy resin-grafted graphene oxide for efficient and allpurpose epoxy resin modification

Xue Liang et al.

Summary: In this study, graphene oxide (GO) sheets were covalently linked with hyperbranched epoxy resin to enhance the properties of epoxy composites. The functionalized GO sheets showed better dispersion and interfacial compatibility, leading to significant improvements in mechanical and thermal properties. The results suggest that the functionalized composite is a promising, all-purpose modifier for epoxy resins.

Thermal interface materials with graphene fillers: review of the state of the art and outlook for future applications

Jacob S. Lewis et al.

Summary: Graphene has emerged as a promising filler material to meet the demands of future high-speed and high-powered electronics. A hybrid filler approach using graphene and boron nitride offers independent control of electrical and thermal conduction. The reliability and lifespan performance of thermal interface materials are important factors to consider for practical applications.

Synergistically optimizing interlaminar behavior of CFRP composites by simultaneously applying amino-rich graphene oxide to carbon fiber and epoxy matrix

Xueqin Zhang et al.

Summary: Amino-rich graphene oxide was prepared by grafting trifunctional polyether amine onto in-situ carbonylated graphene oxide, which was used to modify epoxy resin and fabricate multiscale carbon fiber. Simultaneously applying amino-rich graphene oxide to carbon fiber and epoxy matrix effectively optimized the interlaminar properties of the resulting composites. The ILSS value of multiscale carbon fiber reinforced amino-rich graphene oxide modified epoxy composites showed a synergistic behavior, being 32.6% higher than that of single employed amino-rich graphene oxide.

Enhancing interfacial properties of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composites by grafting MXene sheets (Ti2C)

Ruonan Ding et al.

Summary: Modified MXene (Ti2C) grafted onto carbon fiber (CF) surface improved the interfacial properties in continuous CF reinforced epoxy composites. Experimental results showed that Ti2C sheets were uniformly grafted on the fiber surface, leading to increased interfacial shear strength and interlaminar shear strength compared to unsized CF composites.
