Ultra-High Electrical Conductivity in Filler-Free Polymeric Hydrogels Toward Thermoelectrics and Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

Jing Wang et al.

Summary: This study reports highly conductive PEDOT:PSS hydrogels without any conductive filler, which exhibit about 8 times higher conductivity than polymeric hydrogels without conductive filler in literature. These hydrogels not only show enhanced thermoelectric output power and electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency, but also have stretchable, self-healing, and shape/size-tunable properties, which are desirable for hydrogel bioelectronics and wearable organic devices.

A PEDOT:PSS conductive hydrogel incorporated with Prussian blue nanoparticles for wearable and noninvasive monitoring of glucose

Changshun Xu et al.

Summary: A noninvasive and continuous glucose monitoring method based on an electrochemical biosensor using PEDOT:PSS conductive hydrogel and Prussian blue nano-particles (PBNPs) is presented. The hydrogel showed low detection limit and high sensitivity, and demonstrated good accuracy in comparison to a commercial glucometer.

High-Performance PVA/PEDOT:PSS Hydrogel Electrode for All-Gel-State Flexible Supercapacitors

Qifan Liu et al.

Summary: A hybrid PVA/PEDOT:PSS hydrogel electrode with 3D interpenetrated network structure was successfully prepared, showing excellent mechanical durability and electrochemical performance through the effective combination of interconnectivity and strong intermolecular force. The fabricated supercapacitor maintains a capacitance retention of 98.1% after 1000 bending cycles, with a high energy density and continuous powering ability in various environments, demonstrating great potential for use in the next generation of flexible energy storage devices.
