Small molecule based fluorescent chemosensors for imaging the microenvironment within specific cellular regions

Junling Yin et al.

Summary: The microenvironment within specific organelles plays a vital role in cellular processes and physiological functions. Monitoring and understanding the variations in the microenvironment is essential for identifying disease development. Progress has been made in developing fluorescent probes to study the microenvironment within specific cellular regions, but comprehensive research on small-molecule fluorescent chemosensors for cellular microenvironments is still needed.

A mitochondria-targeted near-infrared fluorescent probe for imaging viscosity in living cells and a diabetic mice model

Bochao Chen et al.

Summary: A mitochondria-targeted fluorescent probe NIR-V with 700 nm emission was designed to monitor cell viscosity changes with high selectivity and sensitivity, which was applied to detect intracellular viscosity and image pancreatic tissue in a diabetic mouse model. Probe NIR-V provides an effective way to diagnose viscosity related diseases.
