Designing a Pseudorandom Bit Generator With a Novel Five-Dimensional-Hyperchaotic System

Ngoc T. Nguyen et al.

Summary: Dynamic and nonlinear systems are being considered for random bit generation, with chaotic systems being particularly suitable for this purpose. This article introduces a new continuous chaotic system and presents a novel digital implementation, along with a data scrambling circuit to improve randomness. The proposed random bit generator successfully passes statistical randomness tests and demonstrates a significantly higher throughput compared to state-of-the-art designs, while utilizing minimal resources on the targeted FPGA.

Dynamic analysis and image encryption application of a sinusoidal-polynomial composite chaotic system

Hegui Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a sinusoidal-polynomial composite chaotic system (SPCCS) and proves that it satisfies Devaney's definition of chaos. The experimental results show that SPCCS has better unpredictability and more complex chaotic behavior than the classical chaotic maps. Furthermore, a new image encryption algorithm is provided, utilizing SPCCS and demonstrating its superiority and effectiveness through detailed simulation results.

Cross-plane colour image encryption using a two-dimensional logistic tent modular map

Zhongyun Hua et al.

Summary: Chaotic systems are suitable for image encryption, but many existing algorithms have shortcomings. This study introduces a new colour image encryption algorithm, LTMM-CIEA, using a two-dimensional logistic tent modular map (2D-LTMM) with wide chaotic range. Simulation experiments show LTMM-CIEA outperforms other state-of-the-art algorithms in terms of security.

From Continuous-Time Chaotic Systems to Pseudo Random Number Generators: Analysis and Generalized Methodology

Luciana De Micco et al.

Summary: The use of chaotic systems such as PRNGs in electronics is appealing, but continuous-time systems are used less due to their strong temporal correlations requiring additional computations. A methodology for achieving chaos-based PRNGs with good statistical characteristics and high throughput is proposed, and these PRNGs successfully pass tests and require few hardware resources.

A three-dimensional bit-level image encryption algorithm with Rubik's cube method

Hegui Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper presents a new three-dimensional bit-level image encryption scheme, utilizing the Rubik's cube method and bit-level encryption principle to achieve image scrambling in three-dimensional space, as well as an improved two-dimensional diffusion structure to spread minor changes in the plain image to the entire cipher image.
