Influence of transverse carrier diffusion on two-dimensional optical rogue waves in broad-area semiconductor lasers with a saturable absorber

K. Talouneh et al.

Summary: In this study, the statistics and dynamics of two-dimensional rogue waves in a broad-area semiconductor laser with an intracavity saturable absorber are numerically investigated, taking into account the effect of transverse carrier diffusion. The results show that carrier diffusion alters the statistics of rogue waves by enhancing or suppressing their formation depending on the ratio of carrier lifetimes. The temporal dynamics of the emitted rogue waves are also affected by the finite nonzero transverse carrier diffusion coefficient. Additionally, simulating a circular disk-shape pump reveals that a finite pump shape reduces the number of emitted rogue waves per unit area and decreases their temporal width.

Dissipative structures in a parametrically driven dissipative lattice: Chimera, localized disorder, continuous-wave, and staggered states

A. M. Cabanas et al.

Summary: Discrete dissipative coupled systems exhibit complex behaviors, such as chaos and chimeras. This study investigates chimeras in a chain of parametrically driven sites with onsite damping and cubic nonlinearity. The research reveals regions in the parameter space populated by stable localized states of different types, and identifies a phase transition from stationary disordered states to spatially confined dynamical chaotic states.

Nonlinear dynamics of triple quantum dot molecules in a cavity: multi-stability of three types of cavity solitons

Summary: Numerical simulation demonstrates the existence of different dynamical behaviors of cavity solitons in a cavity filled with triple quantum dot molecules, including stationary, oscillating, and stationary-rambling states. Additionally, three different types of dissipative localized structures can be excited in regions with high material coherence due to strong light-matter interaction processes.
