Changes in ventromedial prefrontal cortex functional connectivity are correlated with increased risk-taking after total sleep deprivation

Yanjing Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of sleep deprivation on functional connectivity in the human vmPFC and its relationship with risk-taking behavior. The results showed that a lack of sleep resulted in reduced functional connectivity between the vmPFC and thalamus bilaterally, and increased connectivity with the dlPFC and parietal lobe. Additionally, risk-taking tendency was positively correlated with increased connectivity between the vmPFC and dlPFC, and negatively correlated with decreased connectivity between the vmPFC and thalamus bilaterally.

Validation of the postpartum bonding questionnaire: A cross-sectional study among Flemish mothers

Bleijenbergh Roxanne et al.

Summary: The objective of this study was to validate the Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire (PBQ) for use among mothers up to one year postpartum. The study found that the 21-item version of the PBQ is a valid and reliable tool to identify bonding in a general population of Flemish mothers up to one year postpartum.

Dissociated brain functional connectivity of fast versus slow frequencies underlying individual differences in fluid intelligence: a DTI and MEG study

S. E. P. Bruzzone et al.

Summary: This study compared the structural and functional connectivity of individuals with high and average fluid intelligence using graph theory analysis on resting-state magnetoencephalographic (MEG) signals. The results showed that individuals with high fluid intelligence had stronger connectivity in structural and slower frequency functional networks, while lower connectivity was observed in higher-frequency functional networks.

Rapid encoding of musical tones discovered in whole-brain connectivity

L. Bonetti et al.

Summary: The study found rapid changes in brain network dynamics during the decoding of sounds, and revealed the relationship between individual differences and this process, expanding our understanding of the general mechanisms underlying auditory pattern encoding in the human brain.
