Synthesis of novel 9R/S-acyloxy derivatives of cinchonidine and cinchonine as insecticidal agents

Zhi-Ping Che et al.

Summary: A free 9-hydroxyl group is not necessary for insecticidal activity; C9-substitution is well tolerated; the configuration of the C8/9 position is crucial for insecticidal activity, with 9S-configuration being optimal.

Cinchonine inhibits osteoclast differentiation by regulating TAK1 and AKT, and promotes osteogenesis

You-Jin Jo et al.

Summary: Studies have shown that Cinchonine inhibits osteoclast differentiation by regulating TAK1 to suppress NFATc1 and PGC1 beta, leading to the suppression of osteoclast differentiation and promotion of osteoblast differentiation. Furthermore, Cinchonine exhibits potential therapeutic effects in mouse models of inflammation-induced bone diseases and postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Inhibition of ribosomal RNA processing 15 Homolog (RRP15), which is overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma, suppresses tumour growth via induction of senescence and apoptosis

Dian Zhao et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that RRP15 is upregulated in HCC and is correlated with poor prognosis. This upregulation is partly driven by gene copy gain at chromosome 1q41. Functional studies indicate that knockdown of RRP15 suppresses HCC proliferation and growth, with different effects on cell lines with wild-type p53 versus mutant p53. Targeting RRP15 may be a potential therapeutic strategy for HCC treatment.
