In 2005, experts in tumor biomarker research published the REporting recommendations for Tumor MARKer prognostic studies (REMARK) criteria, which, combined with the subsequent Biospecimen Reporting for Improved Study Quality (BRISQ) criteria, provide a framework for transparent reporting of study conduct and analyses.
