Effect of combining rules on modeling of asphaltene precipitation

Neda Hajizadeh et al.

Summary: The study developed a thermodynamic model for asphaltene precipitation and deposition by using different equations of state (EOS) and combining rules, which was validated through experiments on live oil samples. The results showed that the van Laar combining rule in conjunction with the modified-SRK-EOS accurately predicted asphaltene precipitation under various pressure and gas injection scenarios, with minimal deviation from experimental data.
