An evaluation of adverse events following an immunization campaign with the live, attenuated SA14-14-2 Japanese encephalitis vaccine in Cambodia

Summary: This study described the results of adverse events following immunization (AEFI) surveillance in Cambodia after a mass vaccination campaign for Japanese encephalitis. The findings showed that most reported adverse events were common childhood conditions, and only one serious event was identified to have a causal association with immunization.

Feasibility of using a mobile App to monitor and report COVID-19 related symptoms and people's movements in Uganda

Summary: The study developed a mobile App named Wetaase to collect COVID-19 symptoms and movements data in Uganda. The App had a high usage rate of 78%, which did not significantly vary by site, sex, or age. Reporting of COVID-19 related symptoms was low, and most participants' movements were to markets or shops.

In 2018, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and PATH convened experts to discuss opportunities for strengthening JE vaccination programs and ensuring sustainability of JE control in the next decade.
