Roles of intestinalbacteroidesin human health and diseases

Chen Wang et al.

Summary: This study focused on the roles of nine widely occurring and abundant Bacteroides species in host immunity, glucose and lipid metabolism, as well as the prevention or induction of diseases. The safety evaluation methods of Bacteroides species and concerns regarding their future use were also discussed.

Gut microbiota changes related to Helicobacter pylori eradication with vonoprazan containing triple therapy among adolescents: a prospective multicenter study

Toshihiko Kakiuchi et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the safety of H. pylori eradication therapy on gut microbiota changes in adolescents, showing that the therapy is safe with a decrease in Actinobacteria and loss of alpha-diversity immediately after treatment, but both recovered to pretreatment levels afterwards. No serious adverse events were reported among the participants. Further evaluations on gut microbiota changes following eradication therapy are recommended.

The interplay between Helicobacter pylori and gastrointestinal microbiota

Chieh-Chang Chen et al.

Summary: The complex population of microbes in the human gastrointestinal tract interacts with the host and itself, influencing health and disease development. Helicobacter pylori colonization affects the gastric microenvironment, thus impacting gastric and potentially colonic microbiota. Understanding how H. pylori shapes GI microbiota and the effects of eradication therapy on colonic microbiota are important areas of research.
