microRNA-21-5p from M2 macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles promotes the differentiation and activity of pancreatic cancer stem cells by mediating KLF3

Jian Chang et al.

Summary: This research demonstrates that M2 macrophage-derived exosomal miR-21-5p promotes differentiation and activity of PaCa stem cells by targeting KLF3. downregulation of miR-21-5p in M2 macrophage-derived EVs inhibits key cancer stem cell functions in vitro and tumor-forming ability in vivo.

TRIM62 silencing represses the proliferation and invasion and increases the chemosensitivity of hepatocellular carcinoma cells by affecting the NF-?B pathway

Wanhu Fan et al.

Summary: TRIM62 is highly expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and acts as a potential tumor promoter. Silencing TRIM62 can inhibit the proliferation and invasive ability of HCC cells, and increase sensitivity to chemotherapy. The mechanism of TRIM62's effect may be related to the activation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappa B).

Exosomal miR-628-5p from M1 polarized macrophages hinders m6A modification of circFUT8 to suppress hepatocellular carcinoma progression

Liyan Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the function of circFUT8 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its interaction with exosomes, M1 macrophages, and m6A. The results showed that M1 macrophages-derived exosomal miR-628-5p inhibited the m6A modification of circFUT8, thereby inhibiting HCC development.

M2 macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles facilitate CD8+T cell exhaustion in hepatocellular carcinoma via the miR-21-5p/YOD1/YAP/β-catenin pathway

Jian Pu et al.

Summary: This study revealed that M2 macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles facilitated CD8(+) T cell exhaustion in HCC patients through the miR-21-5p/YOD1/YAP/beta-catenin axis. Inhibition of miR-21-5p or overexpression of YOD1 could annul the promoting effect of EVs on CD8(+) T cell exhaustion.

TRIM15 promotes the invasion and metastasis of pancreatic cancer cells by mediating APOA1 ubiquitination and degradation

Yan Sun et al.

Summary: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs) are often diagnosed at an advanced stage, with metastasis posing a challenge to patient survival. The TRIM15 gene is implicated in cancer development, particularly in PDAC metastasis regulation. High TRIM15 expression in PDAC tissues is associated with poor prognosis and its interaction with APOA1 promotes lipid anabolism, potentially aiding in PDAC metastasis. Targeting the TRIM15-APOA1-LDLR axis may be a strategy to inhibit PDAC metastasis by blocking triglyceride synthesis.

M2 Macrophage-Derived Exosomes Promote Angiogenesis and Growth of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma by Targeting E2F2

Yuhan Yang et al.

Summary: The study revealed that exosomes derived from M2 macrophages can promote angiogenesis in PDAC, leading to accelerated tumor growth. By transferring miR-155-5p and miR-221-5p to endothelial cells, the interaction between TAMs and angiogenesis in PDAC was further confirmed. Targeting exosomal miRNAs from TAMs may provide diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for PDAC.
