This study provides a systematic investigation on the chemical constituents of G. craibii var. glabra, resulting in the isolation and identification of 29 known compounds. Several compounds were isolated from the Glycosmis genus for the first time, highlighting their chemotaxonomic significance.
Phytochemical study on the stems and leaves of Glycosmis craibii var. glabra (Craib) Tanaka led to the isolation and identification of 29 known compounds including 14 alkaloids (1-14), seven flavonoids (15-21), and nine coumarins (22-29). Their chemical structures were determined on the basis of MS, NMR, optical rotations, and comparison with published data. This is the first study of the chemical constituents of G. craibii var. glabra and compounds 1-9, 15-20, and 22-29 were isolated from the Glycosmis genus for the first time. The chemotaxonomic significance of these isolated compounds was discussed.
