On extended state estimation for nonlinear uncertain systems with round-robin protocol

Yong Xu et al.

Summary: This work addresses the state estimation problem for nonlinear uncertain systems over a shared communication channel. It proposes a method to handle the nonlinear uncertainty by transforming the original system into an extended state system. The round-robin protocol is used to overcome the communication capacity constraint, and a scheduling protocol is applied to change the measurements' structure. The study establishes conditions for the observability of a class of round-robin-induced periodic extended state systems (RRIPESS) and designs an extended state estimator. It also derives an upper bound for the estimation error covariance and presents an iterative algorithm to improve the upper bound. A simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Distributed non-fragile set-membership filtering for nonlinear systems under fading channels and bias injection attacks

Lei Liu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the secure distributed set-membership filtering problem for general nonlinear systems over wireless sensor networks. Bias injection attacks and channel fading of wireless communication are taken into account in filter design. By using LMI technique and Taylor's expansion formula, nonlinearity, channel fading, bias injection attacks, and non-fragility are handled simultaneously to address the filter design problem. Sufficient conditions are obtained for pre-specified filtering performance, and an optimal algorithm is proposed for locally best performance. Simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed secure filtering algorithm.

Hang Geng et al.

Summary: This paper addresses the Tobit Kalman filtering problem for discrete time-varying systems under the Round-Robin protocol, considering censored observations, integral measurements, and sensor failures. By utilizing the augmentation technique and orthogonality projection principle, a protocol-based TKF is developed to handle the challenges caused by integral measurements and sensor failures. The performance of the proposed filter is analyzed through examining the statistical properties of the estimation error covariance, showing the existence of self-propagating upper and lower bounds.
