Secondary GeV-TeV emission from ultra-high-energy cosmic rays accelerated by GRB 221009A

N. Mirabal

Summary: The origin of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) can be investigated by detecting secondary photons and neutrinos from GRBs. An analysis of the early data from GRB 221009A suggests that the reported detection could be attributed to secondary emission. Further observations are needed to understand the energy deposition mechanism and constrain the strength of intergalactic magnetic fields.

Very High-energy Afterglow Emission of GRB 190829A: Evidence for Its Hadronic Origin?

Sarira Sahu et al.

Summary: The study finds that the photohadronic model can explain the VHE gamma-ray spectra caused by the interactions between high-energy protons and photons in blazars and GRB jets. By observing the VHE spectra from the afterglow phase of GRB 190829A, it is discovered that its spectra are similar to the flaring events of high-energy blazars.
