Hydrogen emission from accretion and outflow in T Tauri stars

T. J. G. Wilson et al.

Summary: Radiative transfer modelling is a powerful tool for studying the hydrogen emission lines from T Tauri stars. This study compares observational and synthetic data to understand the similarities and differences in line profiles. The results show that the infrared lines in the models are narrower than the observations, and a higher proportion of inverse P-Cygni profiles are predicted. The frequency of P-Cygni profiles is found to be related to the mass-loss to mass accretion rates ratio. Rotation, turbulence, and non-axisymmetric accretion may contribute to improving the fit of the models to the observations.

V. Ganci et al.

Summary: By conducting high-resolution interferometric observations on HD 141569, it was found that its complex disk structure consists of multiple rings, making HD 141569 a unique source to investigate planet formation and disk evolution in intermediate-mass pre-main sequence stars.

The GRAVITY young stellar object survey VII. The inner dusty disks of T Tauri stars

K. Perraut et al.

Summary: T Tauri stars are surrounded by dust and gas disks, which play a central role in star and planet formation. Observations of T Tauri stars using the GRAVITY instrument show that the inner rims of their disks correspond to wide rings. The K-band sizes measured with GRAVITY are larger than predicted sizes derived from sublimation radius computation.

Evidence for an MHD Disk Wind via Optical Forbidden Line Spectroastrometry*

E. T. Whelan et al.

Summary: Spectroastrometry is used to study the low-velocity component (LVC) of optical forbidden emission from T Tauri stars RU Lupi and AS 205 N. It is found that the LVC of RU Lupi may trace a wide-angled MHD disk wind, while AS 205 N exhibits a complex outflow system.
