Distributed representations of diseases based on co-occurrence relationship

Haoqing Wang et al.

Summary: The study uses Markov random fields to model the co-occurrence relationship among diseases and proposes Di2Vec for learning distributed representations of diseases. Results demonstrate that Di2Vec can bring diseases with high co-occurrence frequency close in embedding space and outperforms Skip-gram and CBOW in medical expense prediction.
