Ammonium fluoride (NH4F) modified HY zeolite catalysts were prepared by ultrasonic-assisted impregnation and their efficient catalytic behavior in acetylene hydrochlorination reaction was investigated (the conversion of acetylene and the selectivity to vinyl chloride were all achieved above 99%). The results indicate that the presence of NH4F in Pd/NY catalysts can partially enhance the surface acidity of catalysts, and weaken the occurrence of carbon deposition and the loss of Pd active component on the catalyst surface, thus improving the catalytic performance of catalysts.
