Variability of Electron and Hole Spin Qubits Due to Interface Roughness and Charge Traps

Biel Martinez et al.

Summary: Semiconductor spin qubits can exhibit significant variability between devices due to spin-orbit coupling mechanisms. The roughness of the interface, charge traps, layout, and process variations all contribute to shaping the wave functions and spin properties. Understanding the reproducibility of qubits is crucial for developing strategies to handle variability and setting constraints on material quality and fabrication techniques.

Impact of charge noise on electron exchange interactions in semiconductors

D. Keith et al.

Summary: The electron exchange interaction is a promising medium for the entanglement of single-spin qubits in semiconductors, but the presence of noise caused by nearby defects reduces the quality of entangling gates. We propose a model that takes into account both linear and non-linear charge-noise coupling and find that non-linear coupling is significant and affects the characterization and optimization of entangling gates.

Review of performance metrics of spin qubits in gated semiconducting nanostructures

Peter Stano et al.

Summary: This Technical Review collects and curates experimentally achieved values of selected performance characteristics of semiconductor spin qubits in electrically controlled nanostructures. It aims to provide a community source for comparing different spin-qubit platforms using agreed definitions of figures of merit. The focus is on the values of these characteristics reported in the literature, rather than their motivation or significance. The Review surveys the progress of semiconducting spin qubits over the past two decades in terms of coherence, speed, fidelity, and multi-qubit array size.

Investigate on the Mechanism of HfO2/Si0.7Ge0.3 Interface Passivation Based on Low-Temperature Ozone Oxidation and Si-Cap Methods

Qide Yao et al.

Summary: The interface passivation of the HfO2/Si0.7Ge0.3 stack was systematically investigated through low-temperature ozone oxidation and Si-cap methods. Different oxidation methods were found to have varying effects on interface state density. A post-HfO2-deposition ozone indirect oxidation method was proposed to reduce D-it effectively, and an excellent HfO2/Si0.7Ge0.3 interface was achieved through Si-cap passivation.

Coherent spin qubit transport in silicon

J. Yoneda et al.

Summary: The article demonstrates high-fidelity coherent transport of an electron spin qubit between quantum dots in isotopically-enriched silicon, with a reported polarization transfer fidelity of 99.97% and an average coherent transfer fidelity of 99.4%. The results suggest that this method can reduce the cost of fault-tolerant quantum processors and provide key elements for high-fidelity, on-chip quantum information distribution.
