P-doped BiOCl for visible light photodegradation of tetracycline: An insight from experiment and calculation

Jinyan Cao et al.

Summary: A novel n-type phosphorus-doped bismuth oxychloride (P-BiOCl) photocatalyst was synthesized through a facile one-step hydrothermal approach with high efficiency for tetracycline degradation under visible light. The introduction of phosphorus broadened the bandgap, increased oxygen adsorption, and altered the conduction band position to enhance the photocatalytic performance. Additionally, the photodegradation pathway of tetracycline was proposed based on experimental results.
