The importance of resource interaction in strategies for managing supply chain disruptions

Lena E. Bygballe et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an alternative approach to managing supply chain disruptions by emphasizing interdependence and relationships as key resources. It suggests collaboration relying on an interplay between temporary and permanent organizing as a starting point.

A novel scenario-based robust bi-objective optimization model for humanitarian logistics network under risk of disruptions

Huali Sun et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a scenario-based robust bi-objective optimization model for humanitarian aid in disasters. The model considers medical facility location, casualty transportation, and relief commodity allocation to minimize the total deprivation cost and operation cost. By applying a robust method and considering disruptions in temporary medical centers, the proposed model protects solutions against risks. Numerical experiments on uncertainties and medical facility capacities are conducted to examine their effects on the main objective value, and the performance of considering uncertainty and facility disruption is discussed.

Reverse Supply Chain Network with Return Products Quality Consideration

Sahar Ebrahimi Bajani et al.

Summary: Reverse logistics activities serve as an agile solution for addressing production capacity shortages during the pandemic and as a convenient alternative to raw materials extraction in the post-pandemic era. However, the complexity of collecting and inspecting returned products arises from varying storage conditions. To address this, we propose a reverse supply chain network with competing collection centers, 3rd party remanufacturers, and recyclers, which defines minimum quality requirements based on customer demands in different situations.

A multi-objective hyper-heuristic algorithm based on adaptive epsilon-greedy selection

Tailong Yang et al.

Summary: The multi-objective hyper-heuristic algorithm HH_EG proposed in this paper is based on adaptive epsilon-greedy selection and can solve MOPs by selecting and combining low-level heuristics without parameter tuning, making it easy to integrate with various performance indicators. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of HH_EG in combining the advantages of each LLH and solving cross-domain problems.

Cost-effective subsidy policy for growers and biofuels-plants in closed-loop supply chain of herbs and herbal medicines: An interactive bi-objective optimization in T-environment

Arindam Garai et al.

Summary: This study introduces a dual-objective closed-loop supply chain network involving farming of herbs and production of herbal medicines, while also proposing an improved interactive bi-objective optimization algorithm to validate the economic self-reliance of the reverse-chain layer. Subsidies from governments incentivize nationwide herb farming and clean fuel production, with the study suggesting adjustments to subsidy distribution for optimized profitability.

Performance indicators in multiobjective optimization

Charles Audet et al.

Summary: In recent years, there has been significant growth in the development of new algorithms for multiobjective optimization, with a large number of performance indicators introduced to measure the quality of Pareto front approximations. A total of 63 performance indicators are reviewed in this work, categorized into four groups based on their properties: cardinality, convergence, distribution, and spread. Applications of these indicators are also presented.
