Benchmarking Noise and Dephasing in Emerging Electrical Materials for Quantum Technologies

Saurav Islam et al.

Summary: As quantum technologies advance, a specific class of electrically conducting materials are gaining significant interest due to their importance in quantum-enabled elements and circuitry. The phase coherence of these emerging materials is crucial for quantum architectures. Evaluating both dephasing and noise is necessary for quantum applications, and this article reviews available data on magnetotransport and low-frequency fluctuations in electrical conductivity to benchmark these properties.

Controlling and visualizing Dirac physics in topological semimetal heterostructures

David A. Kealhofer et al.

Summary: A thin film of cadmium arsenide can exhibit the characteristics of a three-dimensional topological insulator, with experimental signatures observed through quantum capacitance. By leveraging the flexibility of heterostructures, researchers have demonstrated a method to control the energy of topological surface states in cadmium arsenide, opening up new avenues for engineering topological insulators based on this material.

Detecting topological phase transitions in cadmium arsenide films via the transverse magnetoresistance

Omor F. Shoron et al.

Summary: Research shows that in topologically nontrivial materials, tuning electronic states and Fermi level can lead to the observation of weak localization and weak antilocalization phenomena, which differ from those in topologically trivial systems.
