Synthesis, characterization, docking and biological studies of M(II) (M= Mg, Ca, Sr) Piroxicam complexes

Malka M. Samra et al.

Summary: The development of metal complexes of pharmaceutical compounds is an active area of research in bioinorganic chemistry. In this study, three new metal complexes of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug piroxicam with Mg(II), Ca(II), and Sr(II) were synthesized and characterized. The complexes exhibited enhanced biological potential with lower toxicity, and showed anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anxiolytic effects.

Binding of colchicine and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) to bovine serum albumin: An in-vitro interaction study using multispectroscopic, molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation study

Tanveer A. Wani et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effect of colchicine on the binding of ascorbic acid to bovine serum albumin. The results showed that the presence of colchicine significantly affected the binding of ascorbic acid and colchicine to serum albumin, raising concerns about potential adverse events in patients receiving both supplements.

Anti-inflammatory and cytoprotective potentials of Meloxicam solid dispersions prepared by different techniques on lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages

N. F. Taha et al.

Summary: The study investigates the anti-inflammatory and cytoprotective potentials of MELOX from SDs on LPS-stimulated cells, showing that HME-prepared SDs provide stronger inhibition of inflammatory mediators while maintaining normal cell growth. The findings highlight the impact of SDs preparation techniques on MELOX treatment performance.
