Prevalence and clinical features of bile acid diarrhea in patients with chronic diarrhea

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of bile acid diarrhea in patients with chronic diarrhea at an Outpatient Gastroenterology Clinic. The results confirmed that bile acid diarrhea is a common but often overlooked cause of chronic functional diarrhea, with a therapeutic trial of cholestyramine being a valid diagnostic strategy.
