Biomechanical In Vitro and Finite Element Study on Different Sagittal Alignment Postures of the Lumbar Spine During Multiaxial Daily Motion

Nadja Wilmanns et al.

Summary: This study assesses the biomechanical response of the spinal components to lumbar lordotic correction (LLC) and finds that large extensions of lumbar lordosis may not always be advantageous in terms of biomechanical loading of the intervertebral discs (IVD).

Smart stiffness computation of one-dimensional Finite Elements

Saurabh Balkrishna Tandale et al.

Summary: In this study, three sophisticated methods are introduced to compute tangent stiffness matrices in Finite Element Analysis using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). By modifying the training procedure, the ANN learns the functional relationship to approximate the converged internal force and its corresponding first derivative, resulting in a significant acceleration of the Finite Element simulation.

Development of convolutional neural networks for recognition of tenogenic differentiation based on cellular morphology

Goezde Dursun et al.

Summary: The study aimed to develop a potential CNN model for recognizing differentiated stem cells by learning features directly from image data of unlabelled cells. The results showed that CNN models can classify cells accurately, and training with image enhancement and data augmentation strategies can improve classification accuracy.
